Law Not Justice, the second program in a three program series, provides an overview of policing and courts from an African American perspective.
Rebels Remembered: Law Not Justice provides the open racism that was endemic in the first half of the twentieth century, the civil rights battles of the 60's and the reforms that laid the ground work for the improved but still testy relationship between cops and today's residents of color. Better yet, it tells these stories via striking photographs, fascinating archival footage and reminiscences of individuals like (James) Reynolds, the first Denver chairman of the influential Congress of Racial Equality.
